Clinton Township sets timeline for municipal building renovations
CLINTON TWP -- The township’s board of supervisors has set a timeline for bidding out planned upgrades to its municipal building on Saxonburg Boulevard.
The project will be overseen by engineering consultant Redcon Engineering of Carnegie.
The board approved the timeline at its agenda-setting meeting on Monday afternoon, Jan. 22.
According to supervisor Kathy Allen, the renovations are being done to make the municipal building more compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Some of the planned additions to the building include a button which will automatically open the front door, the widening of office doors inside the building to accommodate wheelchairs and miscellaneous upgrades to restrooms.
“The renovations are really motivated to get into ADA compliance, with the restrooms and so forth,” Allen said.
All bids for the project will be submitted to the online bid management system PennBid by Feb. 21, and the final bid will be awarded at the board’s agenda-setting meeting on Feb. 26.
A separate motion gave Redcon the authority to open, review and make recommendations on bids for the project prior to the Feb. 26 meeting.
“What we’re trying to do is to authorize them to open the bids prior to the Feb. 26 agenda-setting meeting using PennBid,” Allen said. “We’re just trying to make certain that we continue to move the project along as quickly as possible.”
