Knoch grad Shaw gets PSAC honors
CALIFORNIA, Pa. — Knoch graduate Nina Shaw, a freshman guard for California (Pa.), has been named PSAC West Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Shaw averaged 4.0 steals and 2.5 rebounds per game in overtime wins against Pitt Johnstown and Mercyhurst last week. She averaged 10.5 points and seven assists per game in those contests as well.
SRU’s Crow named top indoor athlete
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University sophomore hurdler Matthew Crow has been named PSAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Crow won the 60-meter hurdles at the Jim Wuske Invitational at Mount Union by lowering his PSAC-leading time to 8.22 seconds. He finished fifth in the 200 meters, posting times faster than any other runner in the PSAC this year.
Herrera-Rondon gets 5th straight victory
EDINBORO — Seneca Valley graduate Alejandro Herrera-Rondon, Clarion University’s 157-pound wrestler, picked up his fifth consecutive victory Sunday afternoon at Edinboro.
Herrera-Rondon pinned Edinboro’s Gannon Jaquay in 3:46. The Golden Eagles won the dual match, 43-3.
