Jefferson, Winfield Township to meet on Sprankle Woods
WINFIELD TWP — Representatives from both Jefferson Township and Winfield Township will meet to discuss ongoing development at a parcel of land along Riemer Road.
In November, local business owner Doug Sprankle purchased a 39.8-acre parcel of land along Riemer Road with the intention of using it to host local events, including Sprankle’s Octoberfest, previously held in Saxonburg.
According to Winfield Township supervisor Michael Robb, the township received a letter from Jefferson Township regarding Sprankle’s Woods.
Most of the plot is located within Jefferson Township, though portions of it are located in Clinton, Buffalo and Winfield townships.
Board chairman Matthew Klabnik, who was not present at the board meeting, is expected to be dispatched to the meeting to meet with Jefferson Township manager Leo Rosenbauer.
“We will have our township chairman go have a meeting with Jefferson to talk about what may be going on and what the next steps are,” Robb said. “This is just a meeting between the two townships, and then I assume that we’ll reach out to Sprankle’s.”
No date or time for this meeting has been set yet.
