CEASRA regroups, plans Wednesday meeting regarding landfill
Citizen's Environmental Association of the Slippery Rock Area, or CEASRA, will hold a public meeting next week to discuss how to move forward fighting the Tri-County Landfill.
Earlier this month, Pennsylvania’s Environmental Hearing Board denied the association’s appeal of a waste permit granted to the Tri-County Landfill, which would expand the amount and types of waste that could be deposited at the landfill. The group unsuccessfully argued that the permit would have negative consequences on the environment, including the depositing of potentially radioactive material.
An appeal of the decision is planned, according to a CEASRA news release.
Association members will be answering questions, providing information, and seeking residents' suggestions at the meeting.
The public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City.
