No one injured in late-night Worth Township fire
WORTH TWP — While no one was taken to the hospital with injuries after a late-night fire claimed a home on Barron Avenue in Worth Township on Monday night, Jan. 29, one person reportedly suffered smoke inhalation.
Emergency crews were first notified of the fire just after 8:40 p.m. on Monday.
Volunteer fire departments from both Slippery Rock and Scott Township, as well as Slippery Rock’s volunteer ambulance service, responded to the scene.
The person who reportedly suffered smoke inhalation refused medical assistance.
The home was nestled deep in the woods and roughly two miles away from Barron Avenue, making the response more difficult for rescuers.
According to Ryan Hanchosky of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department, the cause of the fire was attributed to a wood-burning stove.
