County man involved in Armstrong fatal crash

An Evans City man was involved in a fatal crash around 7 p.m. Friday evening in Manor Township in neighboring Armstrong County.
According to a news release issued just before 11 p.m. Friday night by Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers, a male was fatally injured when the vehicle he was driving pulled out of Fairground Road onto Route 66 and into the path of a pickup truck driven by a man from Evans City.
The male who pulled onto Route 66 was pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong County Deputy Coroner Robert Bellas.
The coroner said the man who was pronounced dead wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and that an autopsy would be performed.
No information was included in the release regarding the condition of the Evans City man.
Several police departments in Armstrong County, Ford City Ambulance and officials from the state Department of Transportation responded to the crash on Friday evening.
Myers said no further details are available and the cause of the crash is still under investigation by Manor Township Police and the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office.
