Person who died in Armstrong crash identified as 76-year-old Worthington man
An Evans City man was involved in a fatal crash around 7 p.m. Friday evening in Manor Township in neighboring Armstrong County.
Herbert S. Wagner, 76, of Worthington, was fatally injured when the vehicle he was driving pulled out of Fairground Road onto Route 66 and into the path of a pickup truck driven by a man from Evans City, according to Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers.
Wagner was pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong County Deputy Coroner Robert Bellas.
Myers said the man who was pronounced dead wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and an autopsy would be performed. He said it would take weeks for the autopsy results to get back.
No information was included in the release regarding the condition of the Evans City man.
Several police departments in Armstrong County, Ford City Ambulance and officials from the state Department of Transportation responded to the crash on Friday evening.
Myers said no further details were available and the cause of the crash is still under investigation by Manor Township Police and the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office.
