State police are investigating the theft of several bus batteries from a business in Jefferson Township last week.

Around 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, police said 15 bus batteries were reported stolen from vehicles on ABC Transit’s property on Saxonburg Road. Batteries that were detached from the buses were taken as well, police said.

The batteries were worth an estimated $2,100, according to police.

Documents showed a surveillance camera was covered during the theft.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
