4 Zelienople Rotarians served as district governors
Rotary is organized by clubs at the local level and districts at the regional level. The Zelienople Rotary Club is one of 42 clubs in District 7280, which at one time was District 259 and then District 728. Four Zelienople Rotarians have served as District Governors over the last 100 years.
√ Charles A. Passavant III
A charter member of the club, Passavant served as the club’s first District Governor in 1953-54. Passavant had 50 years of perfect attendance at Rotary meetings.
√ Philip W. Seiberling
The superintendent of the Lutheran Children’s Home, Seiberling served as District Governor in 1960-61.
√ Dale W. Smith
Smith served as the superintendent of the Seneca Valley School District. His term as District Governor was 1986-87.
√ Beth Marshall
Marshall was the sixth woman to serve as District Governor. The owner of Marshall Hair Salon, her term was during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-21.
“I love my club and my District,” Marshall said. “I wanted to serve as DG to connect with the clubs and help the clubs connect with each other for better projects and services.”
