Buffalo Township kitchen fire destroys home’s interior
Nobody was injured in a kitchen fire Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 7, at 408 Bear Creek Road in Buffalo Township.
The call came in about 3 p.m. Kip Johnston, chief of Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, said the fire was burning “pretty good” when he and his crew arrived. The fire company managed to contain the blaze in about 10 minutes, Johnston said.
“We could see it burning in one room through the window,” Johnston said. “We made a good attack on it; on scene for about two hours.”
The interior of the house was a total loss, he said. The four people, three dogs and cat who lived in the house made it out safely.
Sarver VFC, Saxonburg VFC and Harrison Hills VFC also responded to the fire.
