Don Carothers

Carothers

Don Carothers, 74, formerly of North Washington, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at his home in Butler.

Don, known as Donnie to some, was born on April 4, 1949, and grew up in Western Pennsylvania. He also lived in Florida and Nevada before returning to Western Pennsylvania prior to retirement. Don served in the National Guard and worked for a homebuilder before retiring from Underground Solutions in 2010.

Don loved hunting and working on projects around the house and garage. He could be found watching either a hunting show or a Penguins hockey game in his spare time. Video chats with his great-grandchildren and visits to see family brought him much enjoyment in later years. Don’s quick wit, sense of humor and his commitment to family will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Kim (Bell) of Butler; his sister, Bonnie (Bob) Atkinson of Butler; his daughter, Jaime (Jarrod) Hamilton; grandson, Jayce Carothers; granddaughter, Mackenzie Hamilton; and beloved twin great-granddaughters, Raelynn and Azalea Carothers, all of Las Vegas. Also surviving are nephew, Shawn (Augusta) Atkinson and family of Butler.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jamison and Ila Carothers.
