Barbara Caruso
Barbara A. Caruso, 83, of Butler, Penn Township, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2024.
She was born on May 13, 1940, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late William and Teresa Dressel Eberhardt.
Barbara was the heart of the Caruso family. Simply saying “she was a generous soul” doesn’t begin to cover how giving and inviting she was. From raising seven kids as a traditional housewife, to hosting epic parties with decorations to match every holiday, to helping neighbors in need, she never turned down a chance to make the world a little brighter. It was simply a joy to be around her. Her rock-solid faith showed through by how she carried herself. She was an inspiration to everyone who came close. She was a model grandmother, avid gardener and a devout member of the Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church community.
She was the beloved wife for 60 years of Samuel A. Caruso Sr.; loving mother of Samuel A. Caruso Jr. (Theresa), Richard Caruso (Ximena), Jill Stein (Howard), Shari Caruso, Nicholas Caruso, Mark Caruso (Lisa) and Vincent Caruso (Amy); sister of Mary Giammarco (Anthony) and the late Joan Eberhardt; dear grandmother of Mia Caruso, Matteo Caruso, Valentina Caruso, Mark Caruso Jr., Addyson Caruso and Delia Caruso.
Her passing leaves a great hole in the circle of family and friends who will remember her always.
