In honor of George Washington’s birthday, which is Feb. 22, Jennings Environmental Education Center will host “cherry pie hikes” on Feb. 24.
Throughout the morning and afternoon, the park will host nine different hikes, all of which have a limited number of slots available. As of Wednesday, Feb. 14, one had sold out.
Of the remaining eight, two are guided nature hikes, while the others are history hikes that tell the story of George Washington’s trek through Western Pennsylvania in 1753.
To reserve a slot in one of these hikes, go to events.dcnr.pa.gov and search for “Cherry Pie.” The cost to participate is $3.
