Police: Vehicle involved in Pittsburgh shooting found in Butler

A vehicle connected to a shooting in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night, Feb. 14, was later discovered in Butler, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The shooting resulted in one man being shot in the foot just after 11 p.m. at the Greyhound bus station at 11th and Penn streets, according to a news release.

Pittsburgh police said the man got off a bus from New York and attempted to get into a waiting vehicle when an altercation took place with others in the vehicle. According to police, the man did not know the occupants.

The man was shot in the foot during the altercation and taken to a nearby hospital, police said, but the occupants fled the area.

The suspects’ vehicle was later found unoccupied in Butler and was towed for purposes of the investigation, police said.

Chief Robert O’Neill, of Butler City police, said Thursday morning his department is not involved in the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
