Supervisors seek higher credit limit in Center Township

CENTER TWP — Supervisors voted at a meeting Wednesday, Feb. 14, to apply for a credit card through Dollar Bank to have a higher credit limit.

Supervisor chairman Phil Wulff said at the meeting that the township has a credit card, but it has a low limit, leading the township to look for a new company. He also said the application is not being made for any specific purchase at the moment.

“We have a low limit so we’re looking for a new one with a higher limit,” Wulff said.

The township supervisors also voted to release $125,000 from its fire collection tax to the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company. The township has a fire protection tax which gathers money from residents to help fund toward Unionville.

Supervisor Don Pringle said the township holds some funds for Unionville to help pay for higher-priced items like fire trucks, when needed. The company approaches the township with other requests for funding, when needed.

“We maintain about $400,000 or $500,000 of their money,” Pringle said. “They have to come to us and say, ‘Will you release that amount of money?’”
