Butler Countians win big on track
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Butler County residents helped account for four of the 13 wins Thursday during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Attorney At Law, driven by Shawn Johnston and trained by Gary Johnston, both of Evans City, won a $9,000 Conditioned Pace. Shawn Johnston scored a second win, this time driving Wholelotatrot in a $6,000 Conditioned Trot.
Gwens Girl got her second straight win for driver Brady Brown of Slippery Rock in an $8,500 Conditioned Claiming Trot. Trainer Nate Bresnahan of Butler cracked the win column with 13-1 long shot Reddy Dunn.
Butler grad Bocci helps break record
CARLISLE — Butler gradate David Bocci swam a leg of Clarion Univerity’s men’s 400 medey relay that won the PSAC championshiop on Friday.
Bocci, Connor Cary, Gavin Guckavan and Austin Prokopec swam the event in a school-record time of 3 minutes, 16.74 seconds.
