NexTier and Mars Bank merger is now official
The NexTier and Mars Bank merger is now a done deal.
On Friday, Feb. 16, the merger became effective, and as of Tuesday, Feb. 20, all existing Mars Bank branches and ATMs have been officially switched to NexTier Bank products and services, according to the bank’s website.
NexTier Bank spent this past weekend updating online and mobile banking. All former Mars customers will now have to use their new NexTier Bank debit card for any transactions, according to a news release from NexTier.
“Joining together with Mars Bank provides us the opportunity to expand into Mercer County,” NexTier’s president and chief executive officer Clem Rosenberger said. “Mars Bank customers will have access to enhanced deposit and lending products, digital banking solutions, and Treasury Management services.
“We look forward to meeting the financial needs of Mars Bank customers and will continue the legacy customer service and community partnerships they’ve come to know and trust.”
NexTier Bank, with now $2.7 billion in assets, officially has 31 physical branches, which includes the addition of six new locations that were formally of Mars Bank.
