Wayne L. “Twig” Terwilliger, 86, of Greece City, formerly of Bruin, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at 9 a.m., with loving family at his side. Wayne will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Born Aug. 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Wayne L. and Mabel L. (Crispen) Terwilliger. He attended school in Parker, Pa.

His first job was with J.M. Beatty in Eau Claire, and his second job was at Witco Sonneborn Division, retiring in 1999 after 42½ years of service. Wayne belonged to Bruin Volunteer Firemen, was Bruin assistant fire chief, served on Bruin Council and also served with Witco Firemen. Wayne enjoyed helping friends and family. He credited all his knowledge and accomplishments to his dear parents and grandparents.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Darla L. (Ball-Blake) Terwilliger; two daughters, Laura Lynn Colligan and Karen Kay (Thomas) Landers; grandchildren, Nick Colligan, Adam (Amber) Colligan and Sara Colligan, and Edward (Dena) Wade, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Kay (Landers) Ball and Thomas (Sarah) Landers; one great-granddaughter, Haylee Wade; one stepdaughter, Tracy (Grant) (Blake) Claypoole; one step-granddaughter, Natalie Claypoole; two step-grandsons, Garrett Claypoole and Braden Claypoole; one brother, Gary R. Terwilliger; one sister-in-law, Faith Terwilliger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wendell Terwilliger, Betty Bailey and her husband, Robert Bailey, and Larry B. Terwilliger.

TERWILLIGER — Per his wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation for Wayne L. “Twig” Terwilliger, who died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024. Private burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, North Oakland.

Arrangements are by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Donations may be made in Wayne’s name to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 864 Chicora Road, Chicora, PA 16025.
