Julie L. Buffington, 63, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 8, 1960, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. and the late Maxine A. (Patten) Buffington.

Julie was a 1979 graduate of Butler High School, and worked in administration for Hunter Truck Sales for nearly 30 years until her retirement. She especially liked working in the body shop, and was treated so well by everyone she worked with.

Julie was Lutheran by faith. She enjoyed harness racing, watching the Steelers and going out to eat. Above all else, she loved spending her days floating in her Aunt Jan and Uncle Ronnie's swimming pool.

She is survived by one brother, Bruce Buffington of Butler; one sister, Joni (Dave) Rusnak of Butler; her aunt, Jan Vavro of Butler; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Dennis Buffington.

BUFFINGTON — Family and friends of Julie L. Buffington, who died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, where a funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Joel A. Benson, of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Julie's honor to the American Cancer Society.
