Moraine State Park cancels hike due to bad weather
Due to forecasts of potentially dangerous weather on Wednesday, Feb. 28, Moraine State Park has canceled the Winter Hike scheduled for 10 a.m. that day.
The National Weather Service is calling for a 100% chance of showers on Wednesday, with a chance of thunderstorms before 5 p.m., along with winds of up to 22 miles per hour and wind gusts up to 33 mph.
The morning of Tuesday, Feb. 27 saw the first thunderstorms of the year hit Butler County, along with heavy rain.
Despite the cancellation, there are more programs scheduled for Moraine State Park in March, including another winter hike on Wednesday, March 6 at 10 a.m.
