Sarah “Chook” (Gross) Frisbee, 91, of Mars, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Born in Mars, on May 17, 1932, she was the only child of the late Sigmund A. and Sabina (Kennedy) Gross.

On June 30, 1951, she married the love of her life, Roswell “Ben” Frisbee. They were married for 69 years when Ben proceeded her in death.

Sarah graduated from Mars High School in 1950 and went on to business school. She was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Sears & Roebuck, and Mars Bank as a bookkeeper. She helped her husband’s business while also taking care of her family.

She enjoyed traveling, crafting and fashion, and was an avid reader and die-hard Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

Sarah is survived by her five children, Julia (Glenn) Sanders of Centerville, Bennett L. (Dawn) Frisbee of Fenelton, Sigmund J. Frisbee of Falls Creek, Justine F. Coco of Chippewa Township and Roger B. (Christi) Frisbee of Glenshaw; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

FRISBEE — Friends of Sarah “Chook” (Gross) Frisbee, who died Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Friday, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, with the Rev. Dick Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Mars Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Treasure Lake Church at treasurelakechurch.org and/or to Allegheny Health Network Hospice at ahn.org/services/healthcare-at-home/hospice/donations.
