The producers of “American Pickers” are seeking interesting characters with unusual items to showcase on their History Channel show.

They plan to film a show in the Butler County area in April, and are looking for historically significant or rare items plus the unforgettable people who own them to feature on the show, which is a documentary series that explores the world of antique “picking” across the U.S.

The show follows skilled pickers in the business, as they travel the country in search of valuable antiques to rescue or recycle.

“They are ready to find extraordinary items and hear fascinating tales about them,” according to a news release from the show’s producers.

The show in 2010 featured the late Ronald C. Heist, of Summit Township. Heist was also known as “The Moleman” due to his cavernous property, which was filled with items he had collected. Heist died March 7, 2023.
