Leonard Boyd
Leonard J. Boyd, 74, of Middlesex Township, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.
Born in Pittsburgh, on Sept. 23, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert and Teresa Gethen Boyd.
A U.S. Marine Vietnam War veteran, Leonard worked in trucking and freight transportation for more than 50 years and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 249. He loved oldies music and the Pittsburgh music scene, and he helped organize the North Side/West View Oldies Club. He also established the Teamsters Horsemen Motorcycle Association, was a board member with Lawrenceville VFW Post 214 and was a longtime parishioner of Holy Sepulcher Church.
He was the beloved husband of Eva J. Bloomer Boyd; loving father of Leonard Boyd (Catherine), Catherine David (James), Thomas Boyd (Lisa), Marianne Caparosa (Anthony) and Joseph Boyd; and brother of Margaret Johnson, Patricia Riolo (Frank), Judy Lyons, Teresa Crofford (James), Kathleen Enoch (Kris), Daniel Boyd (Clare) and the late Robert Boyd (Deborah). He also is survived by 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
BOYD — Friends of Leonard J. Boyd, who died Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church, 1304 E Cruikshank Road, Butler.
