A portion of Interstate 80 was shut down for hours Tuesday, March 19, following a fatal crash involving multiple tractor trailers on the Emlenton Bridge in Richland Township, Clarion County.

The crash, which affected traffic throughout the day, was reported at about 12:30 a.m. near mile marker 44 westbound, according to a news release from Clarion state police.

A 10:28 a.m. update from police indicated the westbound lanes remained closed while the eastbound lanes had reopened.

Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District delayed the start of classes by two hours in the morning and posted about anticipated delays in students’ commute home late Tuesday afternoon.
