Boyers man accused of rape, assaulting girl for several years

A Boyers man was accused of sexually assaulting a girl over the course of three years in two different Butler County residences, according to charges filed by state police.

Troopers said Jerred M. Carr, 34, began assaulting the girl when she was 10 years old. The girl was 13 when the assaults were reported to police in July, documents show.

Carr was charged March 14 with felonies rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, corruption of minors and child endangerment.

Police received a ChildLine report about the assaults on July 20 and conducted a forensic interview with the girl in early August at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Butler County.

The girl disclosed the abuse began in 2020 at a home in Marion Township, and police said she recalled at that time she had just finished fourth grade. The assaults occurred once or twice a week until April 2023, police said.

According to reports, Carr touched the girl inappropriately in various places on her body. Police said the girl was afraid to resist, but did attempt to push Carr away during the first assault.

Police said on another occasion, Carr forced the girl to perform sexual acts and then raped her. The girl told officials she screamed and resisted during the assault.

According to reports, Carr asked the girl to never disclose what had occurred as it would “ruin his life.”

The girl said Carr also forced her to perform sexual acts and touched her inappropriately at a home in Concord Township, police said.

She also told police Carr would watch pornography and taught her how to cook and process crack cocaine.

Carr’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
