Frantz

Eric Randall Frantz, of Connoquenessing Township, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He was 70 years old.

Born June 14, 1953, in Waynesboro, Pa., he graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1971. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in physics. He received a Master of Science in physics and a Doctor of Philosophy in nuclear science and engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

He was also a professional engineer, licensed in the state of Pennsylvania. Eric was an engineer at Westinghouse for most of his career, specializing in nuclear fuel licensing, reactor safety analysis and plant operational procedures.

He is survived by his fiancée, Kathy; sons, Jason Frantz (Carolina) of Chippewa Township, Pa., and Matthew Frantz, of Connoquenessing Township; three grandchildren, Christine, Jason and Emmanuel; two brothers, Brian Frantz (Sharon Naslund) of Centennial, Colo., and Kerry Frantz (Joan), of Ashburn, Va.; a sister, Anita Brezler (Patrick), of Waynesboro, Pa.; and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Hull Frantz; his third wife, Barbara Salvati Frantz; his third son, Cameron Frantz; and his parents, Alma and Aldus Frantz.

FRANTZ — A viewing for Eric Randall Frantz, who died Wednesday, March 20, 2024, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
