Butler High senior follows family tradition
Many families have a history of producing Boy Scouts through the generations, but the Hoffer family has taken it one step further.
Jason Hoffer, 18, a senior at Butler Senior High School and member of Troop 30, received his Eagle Scout badge at a ceremony March 16.
Jason built a gaga pit in the playground at Fishbone Ministries, a Christian outreach in Butler.
Preceding him in this lofty distinction were, his uncles, Mark and Steven Hoffer, and his father, Michael Hoffer.
All are Eagle Scouts and have the displays of their badges, complete with the date they were named an Eagle Scout.
Jason is the son of Michael and Connie Hoffer of Oakland Township.
