MARS — The borough council approved street closures for two events scheduled downtown later this year.

The first, the Rumble Car Show July 27, is returning to Mars after taking place last year in Saxonburg. It will require the closure of Pittsburgh Street from Crowe Avenue to Grand Avenue; Grand Avenue from Marshall Way to School Street; and both East and West Railroad streets from Marshall Way to Clark Street.

Although the event starts at noon, street closures will take effect from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m., or “when the police deem it safe for normal traffic to resume.”

The other approved street closure was for the Mars Spooktacular on Oct. 12. This event requires the closure of Pittsburgh Street from Crowe Avenue to Grand Avenue, and Grand Avenue from Marshall Way to Clark Street.

Streets will be closed for this event from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., or “when the police deem it safe for normal traffic to resume.”
