Elizabeth Scialabba Menninger

Menninger

Elizabeth Scialabba Menninger, 65, of Butler, unexpectedly passed away at her home on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Born on Nov. 5, 1958, and raised in Butler, she was a daughter of Nickolas Anthony Scialabba and the late Shirley Mae Denny Scialabba. She raised her children in the Boston area for 28 years before moving back to Butler in 2014.

Beth was retired, having previously worked as an ophthalmic technician, a salesperson and a florist.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Elizabeth enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, hiking, exercising, gardening and horseback riding. She loved hosting and entertaining her family and friends. Over the years, she fostered and rescued countless dogs, cats and birds, and was in the process of joining the board of the Butler County Humane Society. Most of all, though, she delighted in being a mom and grandmother. Her unique ability to meaningfully connect made those around her feel seen, understood and loved.

She is survived by her father, Nickolas A. Scialabba; her children and their spouses, Marlena and Don Taynor, Brandon Menninger, and Jeremy and Sara Menninger; her siblings and their spouses, Anthony and Shirley Scialabba and Jeanine and Michael Sample; her sister-in-law, Angelica Scialabba; her grandchildren, Evelyn, Faye, McKenna and Turner; her nieces, Nicole, Christina, Jackie, Veronica and Becky; her nephews, Shayne, Philip, John, Alex and Jacob; her uncle and aunts, Harry, Linda and Pamela Denny; as well as cousins and many other loved ones.

She recently was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mae Denny Scialabba; and her brother, Joseph N. Scialabba.
