One person was taken to the hospital and one animal is dead after a house fire along Ash Stop Road in Forward Township on Tuesday, April 2.
One dog died in a basement fire, which was reported around 12:30 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Ash Stop Road, according to Evans City volunteer fire chief Matthew Otto.
Additionally, as of 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, only five of the homeowner’s six cats had been located, and one person was taken to an Allegheny County hospital.
Otto said he did not immediately know the cause of the fire and that the fire marshal was called to investigate.
The homeowner was put in touch with the American Red Cross.
