The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is having a drug take back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Butler Walmart.

People can dispose of medications in the original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box, according to a Facebook post by the Butler Township Police Department.

If disposing in an original container, remove any identifying information. If disposing of vape pens or other e-cigarette devices, remove batteries. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container and tightly sealed under the cap.

Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
