2 women accused of drug sales following city traffic stop

County detectives accused two women of dealing drugs after 341 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl and several grams of crack cocaine were found in a purse after a traffic stop in Butler last month.

Amy Calvert, 43, of Butler, was charged with four counts of felony drug sales and Marki M. Seezox, 34, of Butler, was charged with two counts of felony drug sales, according to charges filed April 2.

Police said on March 13, Calvert, Seezox and a man entered a GMC Hummer on Oak Street and drove to Howard Street.

A man with active arrest warrants was seen entering the vehicle for a short amount of time, according to documents. Officers stopped the man after he got out of the vehicle, and he was found in possession of multiple stamp bags of suspected fentanyl.

According to documents, the man told police he purchased the fentanyl for $60 from Seezox.

Officers said they conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at East Pearl Street.

Documents showed Calvert was initially found in possession of five stamp bags of suspected fentanyl, a bag of suspected crack cocaine and a glass pipe, and Seezox was found in possession of $60 and numerous clear plastic bags.

Police said they obtained a warrant to search the vehicle, and found a brown purse that Calvert identified as hers. Police claim the purse contained 27 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 341 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl.

The vehicle also contained several cellphones, documents showed.

Calvert’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled. Seezox’s preliminary hearing is scheduled May 6 before District Judge William Fullerton.
