Jeffrey King

King

Jeffrey “Jeff” B. King, 65, formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully at his home in Knoxville, Tenn., after a battle with PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy), on Saturday, March 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Born on July 30, 1958, in Butler, he was the son of the late Donald Eugene and G. Faye (Mckinnis) King. Jeff graduated in 1976 from Slippery Rock High School and retired as a roll grinder with 30 years of service from AK Steel (the former Armco Steel).

Jeff had a passion for classic cars, especially Mopar, and was known around town for his 1971 Dodge Challenger. He enjoyed hunting with his son and watching Pittsburgh Steelers games with his daughter. He loved having karaoke parties and roasting a pig in his backyard with family and friends. Jeff was always up for a good vacation, or just sitting around a fire with a cold one in his hand at the farm, with the neighbors.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol D. (Palmer) King, one son, Brian J. (Lydia) King, one daughter, Lorie Beth King, and two grandchildren, Logan Scott and Carmen Amelia King, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Leonard M. (Connie) King of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two brothers-in-law, Ronald (Debbie) Palmer of Chicora and Jay (Kim) Palmer of Renfrew; four nephews, Christopher (Melanie) Coyle and family of Butler, Daniel (Lynette) Palmer of Platte City, Mo., and Jason and Jacob Palmer of Renfrew; three nieces, Heather (Bobby) Losek, of Knoxville, Tenn., Dawn (Matt) Davis and family of Bessemer and Nichole Palmer of Chicora; two great-nieces, Remi James and Penny Jane Losek, of Knoxville Tenn.; a number of cousins, and too many friends to list.

Besides his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Scott King; his sister, Marcia J. King; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry Clifford and Jane Marie Palmer.
