Of Note: The National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum is a project of the Graystone Society, a 501(c)3 public charity registered with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations, whose mission is to promote an understanding of the iron and steel history of Coatesville, Chester County, Southeastern Pennsylvania and the region to audiences of all ages and interests by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting iron and steel’s history and its relationship to the region and nation beyond.
Iron and Steel Museum of Alabama

Of Note: The early ironworks at Tannehill gave rise to the Birmingham Iron and Steel District, driving Alabama industry and the growth of the Birmingham area. Exhibits focus on the tools, technology, and processes of iron-making and related industries beginning in the 19th century. Attractions include a mid-1800s machine shop, original parts of the Six Mile Bloomery Forge dating to the 1830s, a Civil War collection, a history of the Birmingham cast iron pipe industry, and other historical objects relating to Alabama's iron and steel industry.

National Museum of Industrial History

Note: The National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, Pa., is dedicated to preserving America’s rich industrial heritage. It is located in a 100-year-old former Bethlehem Steel facility on the largest private brownfield in America. The Museum is home to exciting exhibits, engaging programs and amazing history.

Note: The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, known locally as the “Steel Museum,” documents the rise and fall of the steel industry in Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. By 1920, the Valley was second only to Pittsburgh in domestic steel production, but in 1980, the prevalence of steel in the area's economy was a thing of the past.

Note: The Steel Plant Museum shares the stories of the men and women who worked in this once-thriving industry. We have educational programs and community events and we are dedicated to preserving the steelmaking legacy for future generations.

Note: The museum chronicles the birth and development of the petroleum industry in Pennsylvania as well as its growth into a global enterprise. The museum’s 240-acre site features a replica of Edwin L. Drake’s engine house built around the National Historic Landmark well, and the largest artifact and archival collection focused on the birth of the modern petroleum industry.
