In a game that saw the lead change hands five times, the Slippery Rock University softball team outlasted Clarion, 7-6, in the first half of a doubleheader at home on Wednesday.

The latter half of that twin bill will resume at a date to be decided after it was suspended before the bottom of the fifth inning due to thunderstorms in the area.

The Rock (17-21, 10-0 PSAC West) watched Aubrey Mansfield go 2-for-3 at the plate in Game 1, with a two-run long ball and three RBIs in total. Julia Nutter added a homer, while Arielle Brown had a run-scoring double.

Alexsa Hurd went the distance with eight strikeouts.
