Just in time for summer, the Seven Fields Town Park Pool, located at 390 Castle Creek Drive, is undergoing renovations thanks to a $250,000 grant.

“The pool is getting a face-lift,” said borough manager Tom Smith.

The renovations include upgrading the pool deck, adding new concrete, installing a new filtration system and adding new paint to the tile that aligns the pool.

The upgrades are the final set of improvements the borough has conducted to the park since they started making renovations three years ago, Smith said.

“We are entering phase three of improvements to the pool facility,” Smith said. “Previously, we upgraded the bathrooms, the fence, added pillars, added more ground for pool patrons to sunbathe and upgraded the concession areas with granite countertops.”

The funding for the renovations was made available by the Department of Community Economic Development’s $250,000 Local Share Account Grant to Seven Fields.

“We’re grateful for our local elected officials, like Sen. (Elder) Vogel and state Rep. (Stephenie) Scialabba for helping us secure the funding,” Smith said.

The work, which is being done by Shiloh Industrial Contractors, started in recent days. Smith said he is optimistic the renovation will be completed before Memorial Day.

“The contractor is doing their best and we’re keeping our fingers crossed, and it’s weather permitting,” Smith said. “I think everyone knows we had our April showers.”

Smith said the pool is a welcomed amenity among residents and found that after the borough conducted a feasibility survey three years ago, many of the residents have had a favorable view of the pool.

“A lot of residents shared fond memories about coming to the pool with their children,” Smith said. “Now we have new residents that can create new memories and it’s something everyone wants to see kept and upgraded.”
