Truck stuck in store
A large box truck traveled over a jersey barrier and struck and became lodged in Welter’s Country Market on River Avenue in Parker, Armstrong County, on Saturday morning. The road remained closed until a tow truck capable of removing the truck arrived around 2 p.m. The Bruin Volunteer Fire Department assisted in removing the truck.
According to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police, the Emlenton Area Ambulance Service transported both occupants -- 29-year-old driver Donanthony Phipps of Pittsburgh and 37-year-old passenger Josey Stull of Penn Hills -- to AHN Grove City with suspected minor injuries. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the incident.
According to Welter’s employee Laura Pennington, the store suffered “considerable damage” which needed to be boarded up on both the outside and the inside. However, she also said that the store did not suffer any downtime due to the crash, and no one in the store was hurt.
