Rowan Elementary named Green Ribbon School

Rowan Elementary School in the Seneca Valley School District recently received national acclaim as a Green Ribbon School.
The designation, which recognizes “innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and offer effective sustainability education” was announced by the U.S. Department of Education on Friday, April 26.
Rowan Elementary is one of three Pennsylvania schools receiving the designation.
The announcement from the U.S. Department of Education comes while the White House hosts its first Summit for Sustainable and Healthy K-12 School Buildings and Grounds, according to a news release.
