2 injured Sunday in Butler Township motorcycle crash

Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday, May 5, in Butler Township, according to police.

A news release indicated the crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Whitestown Road at its intersection with Acre Avenue.

According to police, Zachary Boros, 32, of Harmony, was negotiating a left curve in the road when he lost control of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Police said the crash threw Boros and his passenger, Jennifer Smith, 30, of Monaca, onto a hillside.

Boros suffered a leg injury and was taken by ambulance to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to the release. Smith suffered minor injuries and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation, according to police.

Butler Ambulance Service, Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and VA Butler Fire and Emergency Services all responded to the scene.
