Charles R. “Chuck” Aiken, 75, of Mars, passed away on Sunday morning, May 5, 2024, in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side.

Born in Tarentum, Pa., on March 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Paul and Theresa Belle Aiken.

He was a truck driver for Purvis Brothers in Mars and for Ferguson Fire and Fabrication in Freedom. He also worked as an assembler for Strutz’s in Mars.

Chuck was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Cranberry Township.

He enjoyed hunting and camping with his brothers in Tionesta, but most valued the time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Chuck was the beloved husband of Bernadine C. “Bernie” Ghezzi Aiken, whom he married Sept. 13, 1969; father of Pauline Novotny (Andy Blough) of Mars, Mandy Aiken (Bo Owori) of Adams Ridge and the late Charles “Chuckie” Aiken; grandfather of Nathan and Megan Novotny and Luca and Sofia Ruete; brother of Pauline Kramer of Valencia, Melvin Aiken of Valencia, Russell Aiken (Billie) of Mars and Brian Aiken (Jane) of Valencia; and uncle of several nieces and nephews.

AIKEN — Friends of Charles R. “Chuck” Aiken, who died Sunday, May 5, 2024, are invited to a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township, with Fr. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating.

The family will greet friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chuck’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
