CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The township is holding a “Keep Conno Clean” trash pickup event on Saturday, May 18 from 8 to 10 a.m., starting from the Ritenour building on Kriess Road.

According to Supervisor Angela Fleeger, the focus will be on cleaning up Kriess Road and Eagle Mill Road. Fleeger said 18 residents have signed up to take part in the cleanup as of Wednesday, May 1.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will provide free gloves, vests and trash bags for those taking part in the events. Supplies have been provided for up to 40 people, but Fleeger said more can be procured if necessary. Signage will also be placed to alert motorists to the presence of volunteers by the side of the road.
