AHN receives $5 million for electrophysiology program
The Mario Lemieux Foundation and Highmark Health announced a collaborative gift to Allegheny Health Network’s Cardiovascular Institute that will help strengthen the organization’s cardiac electrophysiology program.
This joint commitment, totaling $5 million, will aid to establish The Mario Lemieux Center for Heart Rhythm Care at AHN.
The $5 million investment will further advance the academic and research priorities of AHN’s EP program, including implementation of artificial intelligence solutions and other technological breakthroughs; development of clinical trials and participation in industry-leading research; residency and fellowship training; and provider education.
Cardiac electrophysiology is a branch of cardiology focusing on the electrical activities of the heart.
