Seneca Valley earns statewide youth award
Seneca Valley School District recently received the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors Youth Award at the PSATS Conference in Hershey after being nominated by Cranberry Township.
The township nominated the district based on the district’s efforts to connect students and community. These efforts are demonstrated through volunteer beautifying projects like Community Grown, Leaf Angels and Tree Planting Blitz, where students from Ryan Gloyer Middle School planted 200 trees in the community.
The service award also encourages youth involvement in local government.
As part of the award, the school district received a plaque and a $500 cash prize.
