Tourism Bureau’s Restaurant Week to start May 21
More than 30 Butler County establishments will be participating in the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau’s Restaurant Week, which will take place from Tuesday, May 21 through Sunday, May 26.
The initiative aims to highlight the variety of different dining options the county has to offer.
Local restaurants with cuisines such as Mexican, Italian, Asian, American, Indian, seafood and more will be highlighting special dishes from their menus.
Some Butler County restaurants that are participating include Batch in Saxonburg, Rooster’s Coffee Bar in Slippery Rock, Brown’s Country Kitchen in Portersville, Back Home BBQ & Brew Co. in Callery and the Beacon Hotel in Forward Township.
“I think it will highlight all the smaller places within the county,” Meghan Pohl, co-owner of Batch, said of Restaurant Week. “For places like us that might not be on people’s radar, it might help promote that we do food.”
Pohl said Batch’s menu changes weekly, and will be looking to feature their stuffed breads, such as pepperoni rolls and cheese-stuffed breads.
“This is our first Restaurant Week, and we are excited to be a part of it,” Tyler Skidmore, owner of Back Home BBQ & Brew Co. said. “The tourism bureau are really good people and good partners. I think it’s a great thing for all the restaurants in Butler County to get some exposure and get people excited about eating out.”
People may submit a photograph of their dish during Restaurant Week at a participating business which enters them into a drawing for a gift basket filled with items from restaurants across the county, plus a $25 Butler County gift certificate.
The contest will begin May 21 and photos will be uploaded to the bureau’s website.
