Karen Hartman
Karen L. “Monga” Hartman, 70, of Prospect, passed away at her residence on Friday evening, May 17, 2024, with her loving husband of 50 years by her side.
Born Jan. 4, 1954, in Bellevue, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Carrie Ritchie Beining.
She was a 1971 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and a 1973 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing. She began her career as a registered nurse at Passavant, then worked private duty, then as a Seneca Hills Camp nurse, and retired in 2016 from nursing in the Slippery Rock Area School District.
Monga enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, camping, singing, motorcycle rides with her husband, and time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Gary W. Hartman, whom she married April 20, 1974; her children, Jami (Ray) Monk of Canton, Ohio, Jeremy (Amanda) Hartman of Birdsboro, Pa., Joshua (Ashley) Hartman of Portersville and Jason (Allie) Hartman of Portersville; nine grandchildren, Logan, Aubrie, Faith, Samuel, Kylie, Charlee, Charlotte, Emma and Wyatt; three sisters, Rose (Frank) Spithaler, Agnes (Michael) Whann and Debbie (Jeff) Banks; and her sister-in-law, Debbie (Kenny) Kniess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
HARTMAN — Visitation for Karen L. “Monga” Hartman, who died Friday, May 17, 2024, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Kozik officiating.
