Motorcycle rider taken to hospital after crash in Middlesex Township
MIDDLESEX TWP — A motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital on Monday afternoon, May 27, after a crash on Glade Mill Road.
The incident was first reported shortly after 5 p.m., when the rider of a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle crashed and, according to scanner reports, went over a hillside. There were no other occupants on the motorcycle, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
According to Cpl. Brian Costanzo of the Middlesex Police Department, the rider, who was identified as male, is believed to have suffered an arm fracture and road rash in the accident. The rider was transported to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh by Quality EMS.
The crash resulted in one-lane traffic on Glade Mill Road for roughly a half-hour while crews cleared the scene. Quality EMS, Middlesex Township Police, Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company, and Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company all responded to the scene.
