Helen Spohn
Helen (Dulya) Spohn passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024.
She was born in Lyndora on Sept. 11, 1942, to the late Andrew and Helen (Moculski) Dulya.
Helen graduated from Butler High School in 1960. Before her marriage and family, she worked at Kelly Chevrolet as a bookkeeper. She had a large family and was a devoted homemaker for many years, made all the food from scratch and made sure her babies’ shoes were shined.
She was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital until her retirement, working in patient accounting, billing and as a phlebotomist. She played guitar and sang in the country duet, Candy Kisses, in the 1980s. She loved her sudoku, scenic autumn drives and, of course, her coffee. She was a lifelong member of All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.
She always had a kind word and prayers for others. If you knew her, you were on her very long prayer list. She will be missed deeply and forever.
She is survived by her brother, Andrew Dulya; her children, Deborah (Chuck) Michalski, Christine (Jeff) Weber, Helen Fowler, Daniel (Csilla) Spohn, Vincent (Barbara) Spohn, Laura Gargiulo and Jennifer (John) Schaffner; and her grandchildren, Rachel, Linnea, Jason, Ryan, Taylor, Jessica, Adam, Alex, Derek, Hannah, Isaac, Chanel, Veronica, Lily, Grant, Joseph, Melissa, Devon, Dominic, Isaiah, Andrew, Samuel and Annabel. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; dear friends; and her puppy, Linus.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Vose; and her sister, Frances Graham.
In her honor, please say a prayer for anyone you know is hurting and ask God to comfort them. Know she is still “God blessing you” from heaven.
