Jean Matonak
Jean Marie Matonak, 97, of Butler, went home to our Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Born on April 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Rebecca Ellen Kelly and Joseph Henry Renforth.
Jean loved the Lord, the Blessed Mother and her family, and her life reflected this deep love. She worked diligently to make sure every need was met, from family members to her dedication as a business owner. She was a very active, lifelong member of Saint Paul Parish in Butler and served as a Eucharistic minister and for the RCIA program for many years. She was a devout Catholic and raised her children accordingly. She incorporated prayer, most often the rosary, into each aspect of her life.
Surviving are her brother, Howard F. Renforth; her seven children, Thomas (Mary) Matonak, Jeanne (Dick) Welch, Kathy (Corey Hudson) Matonak, Rebecca Studds, Joan Lee (Tim) Dillon, Cynthia (William) Miller and Richard (Kim) Matonak; a daughter-in-law, Debra Matonak; as well as an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
ln addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas Matonak; her son, Dennis Walter Matonak; her grandson, Richard Farrell Welch II; and her brother, Jack Renforth.
MATONAK — Private services for the family of Jean Marie Matonak, who died Friday, May 24, 2024, were held by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
