Donald Hetrick

Donald W. Hetrick, 73, of Chicora, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday evening, June 2, 2024, at his home.

Donald was born in Butler on May 27, 1951. He was the son of the late Donald C. and Helen A. Hipple Hetrick.

He was a 1969 graduate of Karns City Area High School and had served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Don was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Chicora.

Don retired in 2010 following more than 41 years of service with Armco in Butler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the birds, growing tomato plants and spending time relaxing in his garage. Don was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Chicora.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret B. “Peggy” Uenking Hetrick, whom he married at Mater Dolorosa Church in Chicora on Sept. 30, 1978. Two children survive, Lindsey A. Hetrick of Sugarcreek Township and Brian W. Hetrick and his wife, Amber, of East Brady; also a sister, Carolyn Rodgers and her husband, Fred, of Chicora; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters.

HETRICK — Private funeral arrangements for Donald W. Hetrick, who died Sunday evening, June 2, 2024, are under the direction of HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA. Interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.

The family requests memorial contributions be given to the Chicora Fire Department, P.O. Box F, Chicora, PA 16025.
