Whitmire

Gerald Lester Whitmire, 74, of Ambridge, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Born Aug. 30, 1949, in Butler, he was the son of the late Walter L. and Ruby Rinker Whitmire.

He was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church, Harmony, where he was an ordained minister, Sunday school teacher and volunteered in many ways with his church family.

Gerald retired as a finishing carpenter at Weaver Homes in Mars.

He is survived by his siblings, William (Joy) Whitmire of Harlansburg, Judy (Bob) Powell of Butler, Nancy (Frank) Rodgers of Butler and Lester “Bud” Whitmire of Boyers; nieces and nephews, Lori (Travis) Beachem, Sherrie Lipka, Kay (George) Kovolchic, Brian Frank, Amy (Tom) Downing and Matthew Whitmire; and his uncle and aunts, Jack and Carol Rinker of Prospect and Clara McElhaney of Latrobe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Elaine Whitmire; and his niece, Joni Whitmire.

WHITMIRE — Services being planned for Gerald Lester Whitmire, who died Sunday, June 2, 2024, will be private.
